Chen Dehu opened a pharmacy in Guangping Mansion, Hebei Province, where Chen Changxing, the 14ᵗʰ generation Taiji master of the Chen family, established a martial arts centre to teach Taiji to Chen descendants. Yang Luchan, a worker of Dehu, secretly learned Taiji and was discovered by Chen Changxing. Traditionally, practicing outsiders were considered threats, but due to Yang’s loyalty and skill, Chen Changxing broke tradition and accepted him as an apprentice. After 18 years, Yang returned to his hometown and built the Yang Luchan’s Original Taijiquan Learning Spot in the Qing Dynasty style.
